Petco is seeking a seasoned Veterinary Medical Director to lead our thriving animal care center. This pivotal role requires a compassionate and skilled professional with expertise in veterinary medicine, leadership, and team management. As a key member of our hospital team, you will oversee the delivery of exceptional patient care, foster a positive work environment, and drive business results through innovative strategies.

Job Summary
The Veterinary Medical Director will be responsible for providing strategic direction and operational oversight to the hospital team. Key duties include developing and implementing treatment plans, mentoring veterinarians, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving revenue growth. This individual must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to navigate complex situations with ease.

Responsibilities
- Lead the hospital team to provide exceptional patient care and customer service
- Develop and implement treatment plans that meet or exceed quality standards
- Mentor and coach veterinarians to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge
- Ensure compliance with state practice act requirements, Petco Medical SOPs, and DEA regulations
- Collaborate with the Hospital Office Manager to drive business results and improve efficiency
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external partners

Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA-accredited institution
- 1-3 years of clinical experience in veterinary medicine
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions
