Registered Nurse III-Part Time-Evening Shift

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Nurse III to join our team at the Dr. Solomon Carter Fuller Mental Health Center. As a Registered Nurse III, you will provide nursing care for patients with psychiatric conditions, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide nursing care for patients with psychiatric conditions, following professional, hospital, and departmental standards.
- Identify and address patient needs through nursing assessments and interventions.
- Assume charge nurse responsibility as needed, providing critical thinking, prioritization, and delegation of patient care needs.
- Supervise employees of a lesser grade, assigning tasks, evaluating performance, and making recommendations for quality care.
- Perform medication administration, communication with physicians, and documentation to maintain accurate records.
- Work with patients to provide instruction and support for independent management of personal, hygiene, and health needs.
- Admit, transfer, and discharge patients, coordinating health care services to ensure continuity of care.
- Identify, evaluate, and respond to changes in patient conditions, documenting and reporting such changes to ensure prompt response to patient needs.
- Provide psychosocial support to patients through individual counseling and group work to maintain the therapeutic milieu.
- Maintain awareness of DMH regulations and hospital policy and procedure regarding the use of seclusion and restraint, through supervision and instruction, to maintain patient dignity and human rights.
- Maintain professional proficiencies through attendance and participation in in-service trainings and educational programs.
- Current and valid registration as a professional nurse under the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
- At least one year of full-time or equivalent part-time experience as a registered nurse in a recognized hospital, clinic, or medical facility, with six months in a supervisory, administrative, or managerial capacity.
- Ability to interact with people who are under physical and/or emotional stress and in stressful settings.
- Bilingual or multilingual fluency, given the population served.
This is a part-time (24 hours per week), second shift (evening) position, with days off on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday (week 1) and Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (week 2). Employees in this position will be required to perform mandatory overtime.
