Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Education Specialist for Student Success to join our team at Boston Public Schools. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.

About the Role

The Education Specialist for Student Success will be responsible for developing and implementing guidance programs, counseling students individually and in small groups, and working closely with teachers and parents to support student achievement. This role is ideal for a dedicated and passionate professional who is committed to helping students reach their full potential.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement guidance programs that promote student success and well-being
  • Counsel students individually and in small groups to help them make informed decisions about their education and career paths
  • Work closely with teachers and parents to develop and implement plans to support student achievement
  • Provide college counseling and support services to students
  • Design and implement educational and vocational information programs
  • Perform other related duties as requested by the Principal/Headmaster
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's Degree in Counseling or a related field
  • A valid DESE School Guidance Counselor License
  • Experience working with urban youth in an educational or human services setting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents
