Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Education Support Specialist to provide essential support services for students with diverse needs. This role requires flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively in various school settings.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing one-on-one assistance to students, participating in daily lesson plans, and collaborating with classroom teachers to implement agreed-upon activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Students: Providing direct service to individual students and classrooms on an as-needed basis, including toileting, diapering, lifting, and transfers.
  • Assisting with Instruction: Working with small groups of children instructionally and assisting with note-taking, language systems, Braille, and Applied Behavioral Analysis.
  • Collaborating with Teachers: Participating in daily lesson plans and collaborating with classroom teachers to implement agreed-upon activities.
  • Communicating with Parents: Fostering open communications with parents and staff to ensure seamless support for students.
  • Meeting Work Schedule: Working the full-length paraprofessional workday of the assigned school, which may involve varying start and end times.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, 48 credit hours of college coursework, or an Associate's Degree.
  • Experience: Experience working with students who have mild to moderate disabilities, such as autism, physical handicaps, blindness, deafness, and more.
  • Skills: Ability to communicate effectively, work collaboratively, and provide individualized support to students.
Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
