Qualifications for Educators:

Responsibilities of Educators:
  • Curriculum Planning: Uphold La Cima's mission and educational philosophy across all curricula; continually enhance expertise in subject areas; design lesson plans that meet state learning standards and grade-level expectations; collaborate effectively with grade-level teams; work alongside specialty teachers to create interdisciplinary learning experiences.
  • Differentiated Instruction: Tailor instruction to meet the diverse needs of all students; employ engaging and innovative teaching methods; develop both long-term and short-term instructional plans that address individual student needs.
  • Assessment: Create and implement a variety of assessments (e.g., quizzes, rubrics, written assignments, performances) to regularly evaluate student progress towards school exit outcomes; prepare students for required assessments; maintain ongoing evaluation of student progress and keep accurate records.
  • Family and Community Engagement: Foster a positive and interactive classroom environment that encourages constructive student interactions; implement effective classroom management strategies aligned with school-wide expectations; maintain consistent communication with parents to share information and celebrate student achievements; prepare progress reports and conduct family conferences.
  • Professional Development: Engage in various staff development initiatives, including summer institutes and year-round programs; contribute to the development and achievement of personal professional growth objectives.
  • Cultural Development: Collaborate with colleagues to cultivate a culture of learning both inside and outside the classroom; embody and teach core principles consistently; model a commitment to learning for students and peers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the ongoing growth and development of La Cima.
