Role Overview

The Client Relations Specialist is responsible for driving profitable business growth for their designated branch(es) and the organization by promoting the company's diverse range of services, rentals, and products to both prospective and existing clients in the energy, broadband, transportation, and construction sectors. This role requires the development and maintenance of effective relationships with customers and vendors. The Client Relations Specialist is expected to achieve or surpass sales and margin objectives through strategic planning, impactful sales presentations, a comprehensive understanding of market trends, and diligent follow-up before and after sales engagements. Additionally, the Specialist will analyze their assigned territory, identify potential clients and their needs, highlight the benefits of partnering with our organization, and implement strategies to attract and retain clients through effective collaboration with Operations and other key departments. This position necessitates regular travel within the assigned sales territory.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct weekly sales meetings and outreach efforts with key decision-makers in potential and existing accounts, utilizing various communication methods including site visits, video calls, and emails. Develop and sustain a robust and qualified sales pipeline, fostering professional relationships with relevant contacts across various departments such as purchasing, engineering, project management, and senior leadership. Proactively identify and secure opportunities to assist clients in solving challenges, providing quotes based on client requirements, offering job estimates, and delivering technical support as necessary. Ensure successful execution of client projects/orders by collaborating consistently with Operations, Billing, and other essential departments to meet or exceed contractual expectations. Effectively communicate the company's commitment to safety to both employees and clients, promoting AWP Safety's dedication to delivering safe, high-quality, and timely services. Act as the primary sales contact within the assigned territory, identifying and pursuing opportunities to enhance sales through participation in industry events, trade shows, and conferences. Maintain accurate records and provide regular reports on all activities, sales forecasts, lost business, and any issues or recommendations related to client relationships or project concerns. Collaborate with Inside Sales, Billing, and Branch and Area Managers to refine sales strategies and procedures. Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership in Operations, Sales, or Corporate.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced degree preferred. Formal sales training is preferred. A minimum of 2 years of sales experience is required; 3-5 years is strongly preferred, particularly in B2B service sales. Experience in construction, traffic management, infrastructure, or related fields is strongly preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; bilingual Spanish is a plus. Strong customer orientation with a proven ability to develop lasting partnerships by understanding and anticipating client needs. Demonstrated success in expanding market share, including the ability to establish new accounts through cold calling. Proven capability to manage sales and profitability against forecasts and targets. Results-oriented, energetic, resourceful, self-motivated, and able to work independently with a positive attitude. Proficient in technology tools such as MS Office, CRM systems, and business-related social media. Valid Driver's License and willingness to travel at least 50% within the assigned territory.

Compensation: $65,000 - $85,000 base salary plus a sales incentive plan.
