Job Summary:

As a Graduate Registered Nurse Anesthetist at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality anesthesia care to patients undergoing various surgical procedures. Under the medical supervision of a physician anesthesiologist, you will administer general and regional anesthesia to patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatrics, in accordance with hospital and departmental standards of care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer anesthesia to patients of all ages, including neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Evaluate patients pre-operatively through interviews and examinations, and review charts for relevant information.
  • Select anesthetic agents for patients based on pre-operative examinations, in collaboration with the physician anesthesiologist.
  • Monitor patients intraoperatively and evaluate their operative and post-operative condition, taking necessary action to maintain stability.
  • Communicate effectively with surgeons, physician anesthesiologists, and other healthcare team members to ensure seamless care.
  • Comply with organizational rules, policies, and procedures, including those related to patient safety, quality improvement, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an educational program in Nurse Anesthesia accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs and Schools.
  • Registered Nurse License (California) and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (California) certification within 5 months of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support certifications from the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in anesthesia for major procedures involving extensive monitoring and fluid, blood, and electrolyte replacement for various age group patients.
  • Knowledge of anesthesia-related equipment and supplies, as well as charting and documentation skills.
