Job Summary

Under the medical supervision of a physician anesthesiologist, administer general and regional anesthesia for all types of surgical, obstetrical, and other procedures that require anesthesia services to patients of various age groups, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric, in accordance with hospital and departmental standards of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer anesthesia to all age groups
  • Evaluate patients pre-operatively by interviewing and examining patients
  • Review charts for relevant information
  • Select anesthetic for patients based on pre-operative examinations
  • Monitor patients intraoperatively
  • Evaluate operative and post-operative conditions of patients and take necessary action to maintain stability
  • Maintain accurate accounting of controlled substances in accordance with departmental guidelines
  • Comply with organizational rules, policies, and procedures
Requirements
  • Graduate of an educational program in Nurse Anesthesia accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs and Schools
  • Registered Nurse License (California)
  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (California) within five months of hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support required at hire
  • Basic Life Support required at hire
Preferred Qualifications
  • General and Regional administration
  • Deep sedation
  • Hemodynamic monitoring
  • Use of all Anesthesia-related equipment
