Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

About the Unit:

  • A specialized 12-bed unit catering to cardiovascular procedures and recovery.
  • Involves bedside procedures such as transesophageal echocardiograms and cardioversions.
  • A supportive learning environment with diverse patient cases to sharpen your skills.
  • Collaborative teamwork where every member's contribution is valued.
  • A favorable schedule with Monday to Friday shifts from 6 AM to 6 PM, with no weekend or holiday commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under the guidance of the director and manager, the RN delivers care to patients before, during, and after procedures.
  • Administers medications, including moderate sedation, assesses patient conditions, coordinates care, and educates patients and families post-procedure.
  • Addresses the psychosocial and physical aspects of care in the peri-procedural setting.
  • Engages in departmental performance improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • Valid RN License or Multistate RN License from a participating compact state.
  • BLS certification is mandatory.
  • ACLS certification must be obtained within six months of hire.
  • At least one year of experience in ICU, ER, PCU, or telemetry is required.
  • Previous experience in cardiovascular labs or procedural areas is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills are essential.
