Position Overview:
As a Facility Licensed Practical Nurse, you will deliver prescribed medical treatments and personal care services to individuals in residential settings or vocational centers. This role relies on your expertise, experience, and clinical judgment, with guidance from registered nurses and administrative staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Assist the Registered Nurse in providing high-quality nursing services.
- Conduct health-related training for unlicensed staff.
- Administer medications and treatments, or support individuals in medication management.
- Ensure routine medical appointments are scheduled and attended.
- Collect and document health-related data.
- Monitor and report any unusual health findings to medical professionals.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, pharmacies, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Advocate for individuals and help develop community support systems to enhance their health.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Current nursing license with no restrictions.
- CPR certification or eligibility to obtain certification.
- Strong communication skills with team members and individuals supported.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift and move individuals as needed.
