Key Responsibilities- Assist Registered Nurses and Medical Teams in meeting individual resident needs through medical and psychosocial interventions.
- Administer medication and evaluate patient responses to care.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team processes and provide guidance to Health Care Technicians.
- Provide quality nursing services in the care and treatment of residents, under nursing supervision.
- Participate in nursing assessments, medication administration, and assist with personal care of residents.
- Take routine vital signs, monitor intake and output, collect specimens, and change dressings.
- Deliver routine respiratory therapy and other treatments, catheter and colostomy care, and stock and order supplies.
- Admit and discharge residents, assist Physicians as needed, and complete required monthly reports.
- Attend core/care planning meetings, in-service staff as needed, and communicate with other disciplines on campus and the community.
- Licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
- Graduate Temporary Permit.
- Working knowledge of nursing techniques, procedures, theory, and practices.
- Working knowledge of sanitation, personal hygiene, basic health, and safety practices.
- Working knowledge of proper dosage, effects, and contraindications of medications.
- Skill in routine medical procedures, including basic wound care, taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and preparing and administering medications.
- Demonstrated ability to provide direct nursing care within the scope of practice.
- Demonstrated ability to observe and evaluate patient conditions.
- Demonstrated ability to respond to potentially life-threatening situations in a calm and orderly manner.
- Competitive salary range: $38,516 - $57,775.
- 8-hour shifts with shift premiums.
- 12-hour shifts with no premiums.
