Job Summary

Wabtec Corporation is a leading global provider of equipment, systems, digital solutions, and value-added services for freight and transit rail. As an Electronics Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing technical expertise in performing customer non-conforming product evaluation tests, troubleshooting, and repair of field test failures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose problems using the correct test equipment.
  • Troubleshoot to the component level.
  • Test to the unit level and PCB level.
  • Interpret schematics and drawings.
  • Perform modification skills on a technical level.
  • Typing ability to complete forms electronically.
  • Work with a minimum amount of supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • An Associate's Degree or Certificate in Electronics Technology from a two-year college or, technical school, or related experience/training in the field or on the bench.
  • A thorough understanding of analog and digital circuits.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot to the component level.
  • Passing score on the WABTEC Technician Test.
  • Knowledge of analog and digital circuits.
  • Excellent soldering skills in both through-hole and/or surface mount technology.
  • Computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, schematics, test procedures, and engineering specifications.
  • Technical writing skills required for internal and external documentation.
  • Ability to communicate on a technical level with engineers, customers, and coworkers.
  • Ability to apply common sense and logical progression to problem-solving challenges.
  • Ability to comprehend instructions, specifications, and policies communicated in written, oral, and/or diagram form.
