Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Health Nurse to join our team at the Government Publishing Office. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will have the chance to make a real difference in the lives of our employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer lifesaving procedures, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation and other emergency first-aid procedures to stabilize patients.
  • Administer oxygen, IV fluid, oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications as prescribed.
  • Administer medications and treatments authorized by a medical provider, such as, B-12 injections, vaccinations and allergy injections.
  • Perform point of care testing such as glucose, urinalysis, electrocardiograms, audiograms, and spirometry.
  • Provide education and counseling to employees on health topics that comply with recent evidence base research.
Requirements
  • A graduate or higher-level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program.
  • Licensure: For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination.
  • Specialized experience: At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent of the PU-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Working Conditions

The incumbent of this position must pass a pre-employment physical examination and drug test; The incumbent of this position must pass TB screening or testing; The incumbent of this position must receive annual seasonal influenza vaccination, unless there is a medical or religious reason supported by an acceptable statement from a creditable source; Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination as a Washington, DC Nurse.
