Job Summary:

This role offers a unique chance to develop skills in Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM), and Additive Manufacturing (AM) technologies. As a CAD/CAM and Additive Manufacturing Technician Apprentice, you will work closely with experienced professionals to contribute to innovative projects that shape the future of our industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • CAD and CAM Operations: Learn to create and modify 2D and 3D CAD models using industry-leading software such as MasterCam and SolidWorks. Assist in generating CAM toolpaths for CNC Equipment (Various MAZAK Machines) to drive precision manufacturing processes.
  • Additive Manufacturing Support: Gain hands-on experience in operating and maintaining cutting-edge 3D printer (FDM, Stratasys F770). Assist in file preparation, setup, and monitoring of additive manufacturing processes to ensure high-quality outputs.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Collaborate on the development and prototyping of new products and components using additive manufacturing technologies. Support testing and validation processes to meet performance standards.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain meticulous records of CAD designs, CAM processes, and additive manufacturing activities. Contribute to the preparation of progress reports and documentation essential for project management.
  • Collaboration and Learning: Engage with a diverse team of engineers, designers, and machinists to achieve project objectives effectively. Embrace continuous learning and skill enhancement in CAD, CAM, and additive manufacturing techniques.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; pursuing or completed technical education in CAD/CAM, mechanical engineering, or related fields is advantageous.
  • Basic proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and familiarity with CAM principles.
  • Passion for additive manufacturing technologies and a keen interest in advancing skills through hands-on experience.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative mindset conducive to team success.
  • Excellent communication skills, receptive to feedback, and adept at following instructions.
  • Capability to occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Commitment to observing safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
  • Adaptability to evolving project priorities and timelines.
