Job Title: Line Maintenance Technician I

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Line Maintenance Technician I to join our team at Hot Springs Village Property Owners Assoc. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing labor required to carry out the Line Maintenance and Operation functions of the water distribution system and sewage collection and conveyance systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Load and unload trucks and carry heavy materials.
  2. Operate and maintain POA vehicles, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
  3. Maintain and operate pipelines, valves, hydrants, meters, and equipment associated with the water distribution system and wastewater collection and conveyance system.
  4. Stand as flagman when crews are working on roadways.
  5. Report problems to Supervisor in a timely manner.
  6. Communicate effectively with the general public and coworkers.
  7. Assist coworkers and other departments in system operations and maintenance tasks and duties.
  8. Locate streets, addresses, and water and sewer lines on maps.
  9. Respond to customer requests and complaints and complete work orders accurately and efficiently.
  10. Follow up on actions, ongoing personal development, and department-related training, licensing, and certification.
  11. Operate in accordance with Local, State, Federal Regulations, and Public Utilities Policies and Procedures.
  12. May be required to work periodically for other divisions as directed.
  13. Follow all Property Owners' Association (POA) policies and safety rules.
  14. Required to drive a POA vehicle or personal vehicle while conducting POA business.
  15. Required to be on time to work and available for standby duty and work after hours and weekends as needed.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be reachable by telephone and available for emergency call-out.
  • Must have transportation to and from work.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays if needed.
  • Must have the ability to perform strenuous work in varying weather conditions.
  • Must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; and related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Requires a valid Arkansas driver's license, and clean driving record with proof of liability insurance. Must be able to obtain an Arkansas Grade I Water Distribution Operator License within one (1) year.
