Job Summary

This is an entry-level position that will work as a laborer maintaining streets, culverts, and drainage systems as assigned. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including loading and unloading trucks, carrying heavy materials, and maintaining equipment and assigned vehicles in a clean and organized condition.

The ideal candidate will have a valid Arkansas driver's license and a clean driving record with proof of liability insurance. They will also be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays if needed, and be able to perform strenuous work in varying weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload trucks and carrying of heavy materials.
  • Maintains roads with asphalt repairs, cutting of grass, weeds, limbs, and trees and removing cuttings, act as flagman when crews are working on roadway.
  • Maintains equipment and assigned vehicles in a clean and organized condition.
  • Maintains drainage ways.
  • Reports problems to immediate supervisor in a timely manner.
  • May be required to work periodically for Sanitation/Recycling Department as trash collector.
  • Follow all Property Owners' Association (POA) policies and safety rules.
  • May receive or be required to gain additional training.
  • May be required to drive a POA vehicle or personal vehicle while conducting POA business.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform strenuous work in varying weather conditions.
  • Valid Arkansas driver's license and clean driving record with proof of liability insurance.
