Patient Access Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our team at Stamford Health. As a Patient Access Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and accurate compilation of patient socio-demographic and financial/insurance data.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate patient access into the Stamford Health system and serve as an advocate for patients' rights for healthcare issues and insurance coverage.
- Assist in the flow of data between physicians, physician office staff, ancillary services, emergency services, patient business services, insurance companies, and patients while ensuring patient confidentiality is not breached.
- Assist departments with ancillary tasks related to the registration process, such as filing requisitions, phoning provider offices to confirm orders and diagnosis codes, checking procedures for Advanced Beneficiary Notices, and the like.
- High School Diploma or GED, required.
- Two years of college or two years prior equivalent experience in a healthcare setting, preferred.
- Knowledge of health insurance terminology, policies, and eligibility, required.
- Knowledge of clinical terms, preferred.
- Computer knowledge and minimum typing requirements of 50 wpm.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, and ability to work with patients, their family, and the general public.
- Knowledge of Meditech system, preferred.
