Position Overview

This role serves as a liaison between patients, payers, and healthcare team members. You'll facilitate patient tracking and billing by obtaining and verifying demographic information, securing financial responsibility, and collecting out-of-pocket payments to maximize hospital reimbursement.


Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain compliance with EMTALA, DNV, HIPAA, and other regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service, meeting customer needs and building quality relationships.
  • Answer phone calls, record messages, and communicate with medical staff.
  • Obtain and verify demographic information, insurance benefits, and authorizations.
  • Maximize collection efficiency and accuracy by pursuing collections at the time of service.
  • Scan registration and clinical documentation, maintain medical records, and assist with patient transfers.
  • Respond to medical record requests and maintain a clean working environment.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • 1 year of patient registration and insurance verification experience, required; 2 years preferred.
  • Knowledge of various insurance plans and payors, required.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and excellent customer service skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, strongly preferred.
