Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Service Technician to join our team at MarineMax. As a Marine Service Technician, you will be responsible for the repair and overhaul of boats, machinery, and trailers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Diagnose: Examine boats and discuss the nature and extent of damage or malfunction with the service advisor or customer.
  • Perform Repairs: Diagnose and repair all types of marine engines and transmissions/drives/generators.
  • Mechanical Repair: Perform mechanical repair work, including removing engines, transoms, or outdrives, disassembling units, and inspecting parts for wear.
  • Overhaul and Replace: Overhaul or replace carburetors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters, pumps, electrical and fuel systems.
  • Rebuild and Rewire: Rebuild parts such as engine cylinder blocks and rewire ignition systems, lights, and instrument panels.
  • Install and Repair Accessories: Install and repair accessories such as radios, heaters, mirrors, and windshield wipers.
  • Operate Equipment: Operate a hydraulic jack or hoist as needed.
  • Advise Customers: Advise customers and/or insurance adjusters as to necessary repairs.
  • Complete Work: Complete repair work utilizing service schedulers and SSO's within the established timeframe.
  • Ensure Quality: Ensure all warranty work is completed according to manufacturer's and MarineMax guidelines.
  • Safety: Safely operate MarineMax and customer vessels during diagnostic water testing operations.
  • Maintain Tools: Maintain MarineMax tools in good condition and according to guidelines.
Key Performance Indicators
  • Customer Satisfaction: Internal/external customer satisfaction/FANS.
  • Timely Completion: Timely and accurate completion of work.
  • Productivity: Maintain 100% productivity.
  • Quality: Maintain minimum number of comebacks.
