Job Summary

MPT Defunct is seeking a skilled Pipefitter/Fuser to join our team of professionals in the gas construction industry. As a Pipefitter/Fuser, you will be responsible for installing, modifying, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining new and existing underground gas distribution piping systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Construct and Install Piping Systems: Construct, install, maintain piping systems, appurtenances, and equipment for gas distribution.
  • Maintain System Knowledge: Maintain knowledge of system operation and study of working drawings and gas standards manuals.
  • Ensure Safety and Quality: Perform all work safely and always follow company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Interpret Safety Data Sheets: Interpret safety data sheets (SDSs) and identify chemicals using the Hazardous Material Identification.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance: Ensure Preventive Maintenance and Inspection Program of equipment is being performed and recorded.
  • Join Piping Systems: Join piping by means of fusion, electrofusion, or mechanical coupled joints.
  • Verify Specifications: Verify specifications by performing and recording QA tests & measurements on a wide variety of equipment.
  • Resolve Assembly Problems: Resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications.
  • Load and Unload Equipment: Load and unload equipment and materials.
  • Perform Regular Maintenance: Performing regular maintenance and cleaning on assigned vehicles and equipment.
  • Paperwork Filing: Paperwork filing and maintenance as needed.
Essential Education and Qualifications
  • Valid Driver's License: Valid Driver's License.
  • DOT Health Card: Must obtain a current DOT Health Card.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to withstand prolonged periods of standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching, and feeling, crouching, and crawling and lifting to 50 lbs.
  • Union Membership: Join and maintain union membership.
  • OQ Training: Successful completion of OQ training.
  • Technical License: Maintain technical license.
Preferred Skills
  • Class A Driver's License: Class A Driver's License (CDL).
  • OSHA 10: OSHA 10.
  • SWPPP Certificate: SWPPP certificate.
