Position Overview

The Physical Therapist evaluates and treats individuals across all age groups who have experienced a decline in function of their upper or lower extremities, balance, coordination, endurance, or are dealing with pain, wounds, or burns resulting from various medical conditions, injuries, or surgical procedures. This role involves creating tailored treatment plans based on comprehensive assessments and collaborating with patients and their families to promote optimal independence.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes individualized treatment strategies informed by assessment results.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation of evaluations and therapeutic interventions.
  • Provides education to patients and their families regarding treatment processes.
  • Assesses patients' muscle strength, range of motion, endurance, balance, pain levels, skin condition, and overall functional capabilities.
  • Engages in interdisciplinary meetings and case discussions.
  • Mentors and supervises Physical Therapy and Physical Therapy Assistant students as necessary.
  • Oversees the work of Physical Therapy Assistants and Aides as required.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Exhibits strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills.
  • Shows adaptability to meet unexpected demands and shifting priorities.
  • Possesses knowledge of growth and developmental principles across the lifespan.
  • Capable of working with patients from infancy through geriatrics.
  • Commits to performing duties safely while adhering to established safety protocols and National Patient Safety Goals.
  • Maintains a courteous and compassionate approach, prioritizing the needs of patients and their families.
  • Collaborates effectively with other healthcare team members to achieve desired patient outcomes.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy is required.
  • One year of experience in a healthcare or medical setting focused on Physical Therapy is preferred.
  • Must hold a valid Physical Therapist license.
  • Certification in Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation is required.
