Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Event Manager to join our team at Shaner Operating Corporation. As an Event Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and executing events, conferences, and meetings at our hotel. Your primary goal will be to ensure that every event is a success, exceeding our clients' expectations and promoting a positive image of our hotel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and execute events, conferences, and meetings, ensuring that all details are met and exceeded.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, understanding their needs and preferences.
  • Work closely with the sales team to identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to increase revenue.
  • Manage event budgets, ensuring that costs are controlled and expenses are minimized.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Ensure that all events are executed in accordance with hotel standards and policies.
  • Monitor and evaluate event performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent; college degree in hospitality management or business preferred.
  • Minimum 4-year prior experience in Sales, Catering, or Convention Services.
  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Bilingual English / Spanish a plus.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Salary: $65,000 - $70,000. Salary based on experience. (Bonus eligible position based on performance metrics being met).
