Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Freight Operations Director to lead our global household goods movement operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and Optimize Freight Operations: Oversee the management and optimization of military household goods shipments in the lower 48 Continental United States (CONUS).
  • Lead Freight Analysis and Non-Traditional Services: Lead all efforts in freight analysis and non-traditional services to drive revenue growth, improve efficiencies, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Partner with Senior Leadership: Partner with the VP of Domestic and International to ensure successful execution and margin expansion.
  • Implement Lean Operating Tools: Implement LEAN operating tools and techniques to ensure cost controls, on-time pickup and on-time delivery, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Schedule and Delivery Performance: Ensure timely and efficient scheduling and delivery of household goods shipments.
  • Cost Control and Profit & Loss (P&L) Management: Manage domestic household goods CONUS operations financial P&L performance to annual budget for Revenue, Op Income, and Margin.
  • Customer Satisfaction and Service Provider Relationships: Collaborate with Transportation Service Provider business leaders to increase military household goods movement capacity and customer satisfaction levels.
  • Cost Avoidance and Cost Savings: Identify and develop cost avoidance and cost savings business case opportunities to drive revenue growth, improve efficiencies, and enhance quality of service.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Transportation Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience: 10+ years of related commercial/military Household Goods moving/relocation transportation and logistics industry management experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Master's in Transportation/Supply Chain Management or MBA degree, 3 years Executive Vice President of high-volume military/corporate/COD Household Goods moving/relocation across 48 domestic continental United States experience.
