Position Overview:

As a pivotal member of the engineering team at Raytheon Technologies, you will play a crucial role in advancing the manufacturing processes of ceramic matrix composite (CMC) turbine components. These innovative materials are essential for enhancing the thermal capabilities of jet engine parts, contributing to the development of more efficient, lightweight, and durable engines for both commercial and military applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the operational efficiency and performance of manufacturing equipment, including vacuum pumps, high-temperature furnaces, and chemical feed systems.
  • Utilize principles of physics, mathematics, and materials science to design and assess prototypes when deficiencies in equipment or systems are identified.
  • Lead all phases of projects from initial design through to installation and verification.
  • Establish a predictive maintenance program and manage critical spare parts inventory to reduce unplanned equipment downtime.
  • Collaborate closely with integrated manufacturing and engineering teams to innovate new processes and integrate new designs into production, enhancing material performance and reducing costs.
  • Provide effective leadership in mitigating Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) risks and addressing quality concerns during the transition of processes into production.
  • Develop and implement automation strategies to enhance quality and minimize production costs.
  • Conduct root cause analyses as necessary and implement corrective actions.
  • Support operations on a 24/7 basis as required.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is mandatory due to access restrictions related to this program.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science.
  • Experience in developing new manufacturing processes and successfully transitioning them to production.
  • Extensive background in the installation and operation of electro-mechanical production equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to foster strong interpersonal relationships and influence team dynamics.
  • Experience leading small teams to achieve exceptional results and navigate challenges.
  • Knowledge of Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations and practices.

Salary Range:
The estimated salary for this role is between 85,000 USD and 179,000 USD, reflecting various experience levels and qualifications.
