We are seeking a skilled Meat Cutter to join our team at Brookshire Grocery Company. As a Meat Cutter, you will be responsible for processing meat products, fulfilling special customer requests, and ensuring that our meat and seafood cases are always full and fresh.
Key Responsibilities- Meat Processing: Remove fat, tenderize, grind, and/or cut meat to the proper thickness and size.
- Customer Service: Provide friendly and customer service-oriented attitude by greeting customers, answering questions, and fulfilling customer requests for special cuts of meat.
- Inventory Management: Ensure that sufficient product is cut and available to customers at all times.
- Equipment Maintenance: Clean, assemble, and prepare machinery and equipment for operation, and examine to ensure proper function.
- Quality Control: Check product for quality control and ensure food safety standards are met.
- Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
- Education: High school diploma or GED and one or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education.
- Certification: Food Handler certification required.
Work is generally performed in a retail store environment. The Meat Cutter will be continuously exposed to equipment with sharp blades or edges, extreme cold conditions, and wet, slippery, or damp conditions.
