Position Overview: Project Engineer - WeldingKey Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize, and oversee welding-related engineering initiatives, including additive manufacturing and filler material development.
  • Analyze contract and quality standards essential for project execution.
  • Draft, review, and finalize welding procedures in accordance with established specifications.
  • Develop comprehensive welding and manufacturing strategies, including detailed bead placement sketches and welding instructions.
  • Validate, document, and sustain welding procedures.
  • Diagnose welding operations, addressing weldability challenges and equipment malfunctions.
  • Engage with vendor and customer representatives as required.
  • Produce and submit technical reports and documentation.
  • Prepare cost estimates to support project proposals.
Qualifications:
  • Proven expertise in gas tungsten, gas metal, shielded metal, and submerged arc welding techniques.
  • Knowledge of commercial or military welding qualification and fabrication standards.
  • Thorough understanding of ferrous and non-ferrous materials and their applications in welding.
  • Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills, with a solid background in project management and execution.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, with the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE-issued Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in additive manufacturing, laser or electron beam welding, and powder-metallurgy hot-isostatic pressing.
  • Prior experience in a defense or aerospace-related environment.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD/CAM software.
  • Familiarity with navigating specification and contractual requirements.
Compensation:

The anticipated salary range for this position in Ohio is between $62,000 and $97,000 annually. The final salary offer will be influenced by various factors, including local job market conditions, the candidate's skills, knowledge, experience, and other business considerations. The total compensation package may also include benefits such as an annual cash incentive, medical coverage, retirement plans, and additional details to be provided upon receiving a job offer.

Security Clearance Requirements:

Selected candidates will undergo a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for accessing classified information. U.S. citizenship is mandatory, and candidates should be able to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.
