Candidates should possess a positive demeanor and a commitment to providing outstanding service and quality to our clients and their textiles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the transportation of laundry carts containing both smoke or water-damaged items and clean textiles.
- Operate industrial washing machines and dryers efficiently.
- Sort and load textiles affected by water or smoke damage into washers, and transfer clean, wet items into dryers or drying areas.
- Assess items during sorting based on color and care instructions, determining if they require hand cleaning or air drying.
- Engage in hand cleaning of delicate items such as footwear, handbags, and electronic devices that may not withstand machine washing.
- Perform hand pressing as necessary and organize clean, dry items into categorized groups.
- Coordinate workflow between different areas to ensure that items are cleaned and organized systematically.
- Effectively manage time between washing cycles, hand cleaning, and drying to minimize idle machine time.
- Maintain accurate records of loads processed and monitor inventory levels for supplies including detergents, hangers, and packaging materials.
- Be prepared to assist in other departments as needed.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Previous experience is beneficial, but comprehensive on-site training will be provided.
- Reliability in attendance is essential.
- Strong organizational skills and personal hygiene are required.
- Must be capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, as well as pushing or pulling similar weights, and standing, bending, and walking for extended periods.
- Ability to work with textiles that may be smoke or water damaged.
- Must reside within the service area.
