POSITION DESCRIPTION
As a Senior Technical Leader, you will:

  • Define the scope of technical initiatives and devise effective, high-quality solutions to unique or contentious challenges.
  • Innovatively meet all organizational and industry standards while applying site systems to achieve timely, cost-effective results.
  • Provide quality guidance and mentorship to junior professionals on related tasks.
  • Utilize your technical expertise in your field or broad-based experience across multiple technical domains to address complex issues.

In this role, you will:

  • Integrate advanced technical practices and manage a variety of intricate features, including complex technical requirements and the application of novel materials or processes.
  • Lead efforts in identifying solutions to multifaceted problems and establish yourself as an authority in specific technical areas.
  • Direct and assume responsibility for programs that seek innovative approaches to challenges and the application of existing engineering or scientific principles.
  • Assess program outcomes and prepare comprehensive reports and recommendations based on your evaluations.
  • Identify and propose enhancements where established technologies and methodologies fall short.
  • Stay informed about advancements in technology relevant to your area of expertise.
  • Develop project plans, including timelines, budgets, and personnel needs for addressing technical tasks identified by management.
  • Monitor project progress, budget expenditures, and the quality of work performed.
  • Effectively communicate results and objectives both verbally and in written formats to customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Occasionally prepare reports for external dissemination.
  • Enhance your expertise through active participation in local technical societies.
  • Demonstrate creativity through patent disclosures, problem-solving, engineering reports, and technical publications.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Ph.D. in a relevant science or engineering discipline with 5+ years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 8+ years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience. A degree in Chemical Engineering is preferred.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to thrive in a diverse work environment. Successful completion of a pre-employment screening, including a background check and drug screening. Commitment to uphold L&A's core values. Experience in Nuclear or Industrial Engineering, along with knowledge of chemical processing controls and operations.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the last two years is preferred. Previous relevant experience at SRS is advantageous. Familiarity with Configuration Management and nuclear material processing is beneficial.

LOCATION
This position requires on-site presence.

DURATION OF THE CONTRACT:
One year with the option to extend for two additional one-year terms.
ESTIMATED HOURS PER YEAR: 2,000ST
ANTICIPATED WORK SCHEDULE: 6:00 am - 4:00 pm. Hybrid work schedule with local candidates or those willing to relocate at their own expense.
