Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team at Accelerate Professional Talent Solutions. As a Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for creating and validating design drawings, ensuring they meet customer needs and quality specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and check design drawings, including approval drawings, assembly, and detail production drawings, to ensure accuracy and compliance with engineering standards.
  • Perform field surveys to ensure designed systems fit customer manufacturing area structures, coordinating findings with drawings, layouts, and project engineers.
  • Make and implement design modifications to address building obstructions, utilities, or product quality issues.
  • Understand and apply engineering standards, quality system procedures, and other relevant standards and procedures.
  • Collaborate with project engineers, sales, estimating, manufacturing, installation, and service teams to resolve design issues, change orders, and approvals.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for co-workers on design teams.
Requirements
  • A two-year associate's degree in Technology Management, Engineering, or Computer-Aided Design (CAD).
  • Proficiency in latest computerized design applications, such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in manufacturing-related design work, including approval, assembly, and detailed production fabrication drawings.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as verbal and written communication skills, to work effectively within a team environment.
Working Conditions

This role requires occasional client visits, which may involve air travel or driving a personal vehicle. When in the office, you will work from a sitting position at a computer, with repetitive typing and computer use required. You will also work at manufacturing sites to survey conditions and resolve coordination issues with trades.

This position requires occasional use of your arms and legs, as well as moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials. Safety equipment, such as safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, gloves, helmets, and hearing protection, is used daily in the plant.
