Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Floor Technician to join our team at Ahtna. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our employees and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sweep and dust mop uncarpeted floors
  • Vacuum carpets and rugs
  • Clean mats and floors
  • Spray clean and buff floors
  • Wet mop and strip coat floors
  • Deep clean carpets and rugs
  • Clean under raised floors and move furniture
  • Hose down, scrub, and squeegee/mop floors
  • Use reverse mopping procedures and strip floors and baseboards when needed
  • Familiarize yourself with and use wet vacuums, buffers, and blower fans
  • Clean doors, furniture, and equipment as needed
  • Forward customer requests to the Floor Crew Lead and handle customer complaints through APSI's Corrective Action process
  • Conserve cleaning supplies and maintain assigned equipment
  • Read and understand correct dilution rates for cleaning chemicals and follow facility safety policies and procedures
  • Comply with City, State, and Federal agency requirements and make decisions based on safety first
  • Read and fully understand the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all chemicals and solutions used
Requirements
  • Driver's license and proof of current automobile insurance and ability to travel to local facilities
  • Ability to pass a background check and/or government security clearance
  • Some positions may require U.S. Citizenship
  • Minimum one year's experience as a Housekeeping Aid or equivalent training or experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of janitorial methods, practices, materials, tools, occupational hazards, and safety precautions
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions and demonstrate good customer relations skills
  • High school diploma or GED and minimum one year of public sector experience preferred
  • Experience using cleaning equipment
Work Environment

Generally indoors, office setting, with occasional outdoor work in varying temperatures and noise levels.

Working Conditions
  • Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening
  • Ability to be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors and subject to hazards associated with working in a healthcare environment
  • Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays
  • Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record
  • If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s)
