Plant Maintenance Specialist

The Senior Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the optimal operation of all plant systems and equipment. This includes but is not limited to balers, conveyor belts, gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts, and bearings. The successful candidate will respond to system failures by taking corrective action and completing or assigning repairs to ensure systems are operational and functioning safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Performs repairs in accordance with Waste Management's Safety and Life Critical Rules and OSHA requirements.
- Performs preventive maintenance inspections, diagnoses, repairs, and rebuilds major equipment/components.
- Maintains a daily equipment inspection backlog.
- Establishes and adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules and advises the Sr. Plant Maintenance Manager if additional work is needed or cannot be completed within the Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
- Provides assistance, guidance, and direction to other maintenance personnel.
- Inspects the quality of third-party repairs and/or rebuilds.
- Recommends measures to improve production, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Responsible for inventory control, ordering of replacement parts, tools, and supplies through purchasing.
- Leads non-supervisory employees and other staff that may include contractors, consultants, and/or temporary employees.
- Four (4) years of relevant work experience.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Successfully complete pre-employment drug screen and physical.
The Senior Plant Maintenance Technician will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures and noise levels. The position will involve standing, walking, and lifting objects weighing more than 50 pounds. The successful candidate will be required to use motor coordination with arms, hands, fingers, and legs.
