Heavy Duty Fleet Technician Lead

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Fleet Technician Lead to join our team at Sysco, the global leader in foodservice distribution. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our fleet vehicles.
Job SummaryThis is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced technician to lead our heavy duty maintenance team. You will be responsible for performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on our fleet vehicles to ensure they are safe and reliable.
Responsibilities- Inspect and Maintain Fleet Vehicles: Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on all fleet vehicles, including tractors, trailers, converter dollies, and other company-owned equipment.
- Diagnose and Repair Complex Issues: Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with our fleet vehicles, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
- Lead the Maintenance Team: Provide guidance and oversight to junior technicians, ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Document Work Performed: Accurately document all work performed on work orders, ensuring that all necessary information is recorded and available for future reference.
- Education: Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training or equivalent experience required.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair, with a minimum of 1 year of leadership experience preferred.
- Certifications/Licenses: Current and valid driver's license, ASE certifications (Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks), and Brake Inspector Certification required.
- Skillset: Expert knowledge of vehicle systems and components, moderate knowledge of electrical systems, and basic knowledge of welding and cutting.
As a Heavy Duty Fleet Technician Lead at Sysco, you will work in a fast-paced warehouse environment with frequent exposure to wet, hot, and humid conditions. You may be required to work non-traditional business hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
The salary range for this position is $ $70,000 - $90,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
