Diesel Shop Maintenance Team Lead

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Shop Maintenance Team Lead to join our team at Penske Truck Leasing. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our diesel shop maintenance facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Management: Supervise and lead a team of technicians and mechanics to ensure efficient and effective delivery of diesel shop maintenance services.
- Scheduling and Planning: Manage preventative maintenance scheduling, quality control, and customer satisfaction to meet business objectives.
- Customer Service: Listen to and resolve customer complaints regarding services, products, or personnel.
- Talent Development: Hire, train, and evaluate personnel to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties effectively.
- Communication: Collaborate with company officials to develop methods and procedures to increase sales, expand markets, and promote business.
- Performance Management: Direct and supervise associates engaged in sales, inventory-taking, reconciling cash receipts, or performing specific services.
Requirements
- Experience: At least 3 years of previous work experience in diesel shop maintenance is required, as well as at least 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Education: An associate's degree in business or a technical field is preferred, or a Vo-Tech graduate with relevant experience.
- Skillset: Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint is required, along with strong written/oral communication and people management skills.
Working Conditions
The Diesel Shop Maintenance Team Lead will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. They will also be expected to travel occasionally to attend meetings and training sessions.
Compensation and Benefits
The estimated salary for this role is $78,200 - $103,600 annually, depending on experience. Our excellent benefits package includes health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands of this role include frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods. The associate must be able to safely navigate the work environment, which may include working at heights using ladders and elevated working platforms, and exposure to various weather conditions.
