Job Title: Local Contract - Interventional Radiology Technologist - Cath Lab

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team in the Cath Lab. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for preparing examination rooms, administering radiopharmaceuticals, and positioning patients and equipment for diagnostic imaging procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing examination rooms for patient examinations
  • Administering radiopharmaceuticals to obtain clear, usable images
  • Positioning patients and equipment, explaining procedures, and ensuring patient comfort
  • Inserting commands and data into the computer to document and specify scan sequences, and monitoring video displays to adjust density or contrast
  • Monitoring patients during examinations, ensuring safety, and following procedures to prevent unnecessary exposure to radiation
  • Producing diagnostic images, reporting important information to physicians, and updating patient records
  • Organizing daily procedure schedules for emergencies and monitoring radiographic supplies
  • Performing administrative tasks, such as answering technical questions, scheduling appointments, and offering pre-procedure advice
  • Performing scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs on radiographic equipment

Requirements:

  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
  • The ability to stand for extended periods
  • Strong technical skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Passionate about patient care
  • Requires a minimum of two years of current RN Med/Surg Oncology experience
  • Graduate from a fully accredited RN program
  • Active unencumbered Kansas RN state license
  • One year of Cerner experience

  • A can-do, team-oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers, and staff throughout the department and hospital
  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and flexibility to handle multiple tasks
