We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Corewell Health. As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for performing accurate and efficient diagnostic exams in all areas of general radiology.
Key Responsibilities- Perform quality diagnostic exams after verifying patient identification and physician orders.
- Acquire accurate patient histories and document in the medical record.
- Monitor patients during procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Perform radiographic and related patient care procedures using age-appropriate methods for patients' physical abilities and limitations.
- Ensure STAT requests are relayed to radiologists in a timely manner.
- Effectively communicate with customers, administrative staff, medical staff, and peers.
- Demonstrate ability to proficiently operate diagnostic imaging equipment and follow policy for any malfunctions or quality control failures.
- Utilize ALARA standards for minimizing radiation exposure to patients, staff, and self.
- Provide procedural information and education to patients and families prior to each exam.
- Contribute to the effective operations of the department by assisting fellow employees and staying in compliance with quality assurance and quality control.
- Accurately and efficiently use hospital computer systems for verifying orders, viewing schedules, and sending information to PACS.
- Assist in the training of students and new hires.
- Ensure equipment is wiped down between patients and exam rooms are clean and properly stocked with linen and supplies.
- Maintain competency in all assigned areas, including fluoroscopic, general diagnostic, orthopedic, and operating procedures.
- Graduate of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredited radiography program.
- Training gained at the student level.
- CRT-Radiologic Technologist Registration - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (180 days required).
- CRT-Radiographer (R) - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (upon hire required).
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association (upon hire required) or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross (upon hire required).
