Job Summary

DMC Receiving Hospital, a leading healthcare provider, is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic radiological exams, verifying patient identity, and reviewing medical records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic radiological exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment
  • Verify patient identity and review medical records for appropriateness of exam or procedure
  • Interview patients to obtain, verify, or update medical history and assess risk factors
  • Explain procedures to patients, including side effects of pharmaceuticals, risks, benefits, alternatives, and follow-up
  • Set up equipment and acquire appropriate images as per script
  • Review images, make initial observations, document exceptions from established protocols, and communicate data to radiologists
  • Recognize and respond to medical emergencies as appropriate
  • Provide physician-prescribed post-care instructions to patients
  • Participate in process improvement activities within radiology practice, including quality of care, patient flow, reject-repeat analysis, and patient satisfaction
  • Provide imaging education to residents, student technologists, and new employees
  • Able to take call/standby as required by the department
Requirements
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography (R)
  • Required to have or successfully complete American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) training by end of orientation period
  • Skills required: analytical and clinical skills, interpersonal and communication skills, technical knowledge, ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, physical stamina, manual dexterity, and visual acuity
