**Job Title:** Surgical Technologist

**Job Specialty:** Surgical Technologist with Orthopedic Experience

**Job Duration:** Options for 13 weeks or 20 weeks

**Shift:** Rotating Schedule - 3x 12-hour shifts

**Guaranteed Hours:** 32 hours per week

**Experience:** Minimum 1 year; Completion of a Certified Surgical Technologist program and/or Licensed Surgical Technologist; Strong orthopedic experience required

**License:** Licensed as a Surgical Technologist in the state required

**Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS) required

**Must-Have:**
- Working knowledge of the English language
- Capability to care for patients across various age groups including Neonatal/Infant, Pediatrics, Adolescence, Young Adult/Adult, Middle-aged, and Geriatric
- COVID Vaccination Required

**Job Description:**

- Assist during surgical procedures ensuring and maintaining the integrity of a sterile surgical field
- Provide instrumentation as needed to the surgical team
- Participate in unit activities to ensure high levels of quality patient care
- Function under the direction of a Registered Nurse
- Possess expertise in sterile and aseptic techniques, human anatomy, surgical procedures, and the implementation of tools and technologies
- Function with working knowledge of AORN standards
- Maintain and check all items for proper packaging and integrity
- Ensure a safe operating room environment where equipment functions properly
- Work towards competency with Tier 1 surgical cases
- Maintain flexibility while contributing to the ongoing delivery of care within the scope of practice
- Model effective, timely communication with the perioperative team with active participation in the Time Out Process, including Briefings and Debriefings
- Assist the team in patient transports, room turnovers, and room preparation
- Model professional behavior, including maintaining knowledge of new technologies and procedures
- Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Travelers may be required to float to local facilities
