The Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore is a leading Jewish community organization in North America, recognized for its commitment to delivering high-quality services to the Baltimore Jewish community, Israel, and global Jewish communities. Our annual campaign raises approximately $30 million, and we have an operating budget of around $55 million. We are nearing completion of a historic $200 million Centennial Campaign, shaping our future over the next 100 years. Our diverse real estate portfolio and robust endowment and investment program hold nearly $1 billion in assets. With a team of over 100 full-time employees, we remain true to our promise of serving the Baltimore community with urgency, compassion, and Jewish values.

Job Summary

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will oversee all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and compliance requirements for our network. You will work closely with the President & CEO, along with our Boards, Audit & Finance Committees, and agency partners to develop and implement financial strategies that support our mission and goals. Your primary responsibility will be ensuring the integrity of our overall financial process and results, as well as managing our Investment Oversight and Management Committees. You will ensure that investments of almost $1 billion are managed effectively and efficiently, meeting stakeholder expectations and custom benchmarks established. You will oversee our annual operating and capital budgets, ensuring that all financial goals are met, and ensure compliance with all covenants and terms of various agreements.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies to drive organizational growth and success.
  2. Oversee all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and compliance requirements.
  3. Manage our investment portfolio of nearly $1 billion, ensuring effective and efficient management, meeting stakeholder expectations, and custom benchmarks established.
  4. Serve as a key member of our leadership team, providing strategic guidance and recommendations on financial matters.
  5. Collaborate with our audit committee and external auditors to ensure accurate and transparent financial reporting.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A CPA or MBA degree.
  • Fifteen or more years of work-related experience, including six years working with a not-for-profit organization.
  • Broad and comprehensive knowledge of financial theories, concepts, and practices, with the ability to apply them in complex situations.
  • Knowledge of Sage platforms is preferred.
Compensation Package

As a valued member of our team, you can expect a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $225,000 annually, commensurate with your experience.
