The Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in providing direct nursing care to patients in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.
Key Responsibilities- Conducts initial and ongoing physical and psychosocial assessments to identify patient needs and develop individualized care plans.
- Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors vital signs as needed.
- Participates in treatment team conferences to assist in planning and revising goals, objectives, and interventions tailored to each patient's unique needs.
- Implements nursing plans of care for assigned patients and leads group therapy sessions to promote patient well-being.
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Current RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or compact license.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification acquired within 60 days of hire.
- Recent RN experience in a hospital setting, with a preference for Behavioral Health experience.
