About the Role

TriCities Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Float Pool team. As a Float Pool RN, you will have the opportunity to work in various nursing units within the facility, including Intensive Care/ICU, Emergency Room (ER), Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, Step-Down, Behavioral Health, and Outpatient Surgery.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care while ensuring satisfaction of our customers (patients, visitors, physicians, and other staff members).
  • Participate in and understand Quality Management activities while promoting cost-effective unit operations.
  • Document nursing care in Meditech.
  • Assist in the orientation of new personnel and identify or assume activities relative to the developmental needs of the unit and the nursing department.

Requirements

  • Current license from the Virginia Board of Nursing (or multi-state compact license with eligibility to practice in Virginia).
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred.
  • At least two years of previous nursing experience in an acute care facility required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
