Job Title: Culinary Specialist

WestCare is seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality food preparation and presentation for our clients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee food preparation, storage, and supply for our residential programs.
  • Develop and implement menu planning and food ordering strategies to meet the needs of our clients and staff.
  • Maintain high health standards, cleanliness, and sanitation in the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Ensure compliance with California State Health Codes and regulatory guidelines.
  • Manage inventory and ordering of food and commodities.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective food service operations.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in quality food preparation for large groups and/or institutional cooking and food service.
  • Ability to pass a criminal history background screening and obtain CDCR clearance.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain WestCare vehicle insurance.
  • CPR Certification, First Aid Certification, and Annual Tuberculosis test.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of professionalism.
