Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician Lead to join our team at Sutter Health. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for coordinating the overall operation of our pharmacy technicians, including staffing and work assignments. You will serve as a liaison between our department and staff, Information Systems, physicians, patients, family, and other site staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the overall operation of pharmacy technicians, including staffing and work assignments.
  • Serve as a liaison between the department and staff, Information Systems, physicians, patients, family, and other site staff.
  • Perform pharmaceutical procedures for medication preparation and distribution that ensures safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapy.
  • Exercise sound judgment and developed clinical skills to provide pharmaceutical support to the patient's plan of care based on the diagnosis in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program or meeting the Board of Pharmacy requirements to obtain registration.
  • PHRMTECHR-Registered Pharmacy Technician or equivalent certification.
  • 4 years of recent relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, generic and trade pharmaceutical names, pharmaceutical calculations, and laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of different pharmacy practice settings, including narcotic delivery and procedures.

Working Conditions

This position may regularly work, store, prepare, receive, unpack, transport, dispose of, or administer drug(s) identified as hazardous, or potentially hazardous, by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) for purposes of USP 800.

Pay Range

The salary range for this role is $40.82 to $51.01 per hour.
