**Job Summary:**
As a Lead Instructor for the Medical Assisting program, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in your assigned discipline. You will work closely with faculty to promote continuous improvement of instruction and assist with the development and coordination of academic programs and retention activities within the department.

**Key Responsibilities:**
Teach and mentor students in your assigned discipline, demonstrating excellent teaching qualities and setting a positive example for other instructors.
Serve as a mentor to new faculty members and assist in developing, evaluating, and maintaining curricula and programs that respond to community needs and prepare students for success.
Assist with the development and scheduling of classes, textbook review, selection, and distribution processes, and substitute to cover classes as needed.
Assist with employee orientations, resolve faculty and student issues, and maintain inventory of equipment, software, and supplies in the laboratory and classroom.
Monitor classroom and student safety, participate in student activities, and keep abreast of industry changes through participation in industry events and regular involvement in professional organizations.

**Requirements:**
Documented expertise in academic subject area as demonstrated by data sheets, diplomas, transcripts, certifications, and/or résumés.
Expertise in interpersonal and oral presentation/written communication skills, with the ability to follow through on instructions given in a timely manner and work effectively and collaboratively with others.
Minimum of four (4) years of industry experience, with prior postsecondary related teaching experience of at least one (1) year required.
Associate/Bachelor's/Master's degree in the discipline may be required, as well as appropriate licenses and certifications depending upon discipline as per accreditation and state licensing standards.
