Electromechanical Field Service Specialist

The Electro-Mechanical Field Service Technician is a skilled position responsible for performing specialized electrical design theory, installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair work. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical theory and principles, as well as leadership skills to meet company expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Perform electrical work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, NEC, properties of materials, and principles of operations of electrical equipment.
- Utilize electrical test equipment to isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment.
- Service electronic equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, circuits, printed circuit boards, and similar electronic devices.
- Knowledge of low and high voltage electrical systems and basic wiring principles.
- Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to the trade.
- Fabricate parts not commercially available, using machine and hand tools common to the trade.
- Determine the need for, analyze, and make necessary running adjustments, repairs, and overhauls.
- Troubleshoot and repair electric controls, motor control centers, and programmable logic controls.
- Install and repair electrical equipment, design electrical controls circuits, and install electrical wiring.
- Identify equipment and material needs for projects, read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Coordinate on all project needs with Maintenance and Production Supervisors/Managers.
- Provide leadership to all employees in compliance with all safety programs.
- Knowledge of electrical terms, materials, methods, tools, and equipment used in the inspection, repair, installation, service, and maintenance of electrical systems.
- Assist in the training and skill upgrading of other maintenance personnel and production associates.
- Mechatronics Associate's Degree preferred, vocational training may be acceptable.
- 2+ years of experience in the maintenance of industrial machinery.
- Allen Bradley/Rockwell PLC and HMI programming experience.
- Working knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, servo drives, relay logic.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and ladder logic.
- Ability to write professional emails and service reports.
- Knowledge of mechanical troubleshooting, repair, and installation.
This is a home-based position with up to 85% travel required. When not on vacation or approved time off, on call to travel 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
