The Boiler Controls and Electrical Technician will play a crucial role in the maintenance and optimization of boiler systems. This position entails a combination of electrical and mechanical tasks, ensuring the efficient operation of various components including pumps, valves, and piping.
Key Responsibilities:
- Traveling approximately 40% of the time; this is not a local or shop-based role.
- Demonstrating proficiency with PLCs, transformers, transmitters, and related control systems.
- Wiring controls, sensors, and motors for both watertube and firetube boilers, along with auxiliary equipment.
- Constructing and testing control panels and systems in accordance with engineering wiring schematics and diagrams.
- Conducting field start-ups of boiler systems.
- Interpreting blueprints and wiring schematics accurately.
- Maintaining the condition and inventory of all tools and assigned components.
- Applying analytical thinking, creativity, and sound judgment to achieve desired outcomes.
- Ensuring that all tasks and company projects are executed efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Performing additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of experience with electrical and control systems.
Additional Skills:
- Ability to read and work from blueprints and schematics.
- Capability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Extensive knowledge of control systems.
- Strong mechanical and electrical background is essential.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting systems without schematics.
- Basic familiarity with PLCs.
- Possession of a current valid driver's license.
This is a permanent position with a competitive pay rate based on experience and interview performance, ranging from $28 to $35.
