About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Deputy Mission Systems Engineer to join our team at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a key member of our Dragonfly mission team, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and operation of our rotorcraft-lander system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Mission System Engineer in all areas, including leading trade studies and performing technical leadership tasks.
  • Act as the project technical authority when the Mission System Engineer is absent.
  • Lead the Mission Systems Engineering Team and engineering activities across the project.
  • Maintain a history of technical requirement and design changes throughout the lifecycle.
  • Organize major project technical reviews and interact with the NASA Standing Review Board and Technical Authority.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • At least 10 years of systems engineering experience with the NASA mission or spacecraft development process.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership of large engineering teams delivering flight hardware.
  • Excellent communication skills and in-depth knowledge of the APL Quality Management System processes and procedures.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
