Job Title:

Sr. Principal Systems Engineer - Nuclear Hardness & Survivability

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to join our team in Melbourne, Florida. The successful candidate will have expertise in nuclear hardness and survivability design, with a focus on thermal protection and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement nuclear hardness and survivability design strategies for weapon systems
  • Conduct thermal analysis and testing to ensure compliance with operational requirements
  • Prepare and present engineering artifacts to support design reviews and requirements compliance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and integrate nuclear hardness and survivability design solutions
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 9 years of experience in engineering, or Master's degree with 7 years of experience, or PhD with 4 years of experience
  • Active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain an interim Top Secret clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
  • Proficiency in thermal modeling and simulation tools and techniques
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Nuclear Command, Control & Communication weapon system survivability design experience
  • Masters degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with focus on thermodynamic, fluid mechanics and/or heat transfer disciplines
  • Experience with Government solar and/or Xenon, Quartz Lamp Thermal Flash facility technology, capabilities, and limitations
Benefits:

Northrop Grumman offers a competitive salary range of $114,900 - $172,300, as well as a discretionary bonus and a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
