We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Tenured Professor in the Department of Celtic Languages and Literatures at Harvard University. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Middle and Modern Welsh and a proven track record of research, teaching, and academic leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Teach Welsh language and literature courses to graduate students in the Celtic and other departments
- Supervise the teaching of Brittonic languages by visiting faculty and graduate Teaching Fellows
- Contribute to the undergraduate curriculum through courses in Harvard's General Education and/or First Year Seminar programs
- Develop innovative courses in Celtic studies and Welsh topics at both undergraduate and graduate levels
- Undertake administrative responsibilities in the Celtic Department
- Participate in the interdepartmental and interdisciplinary intellectual life of the Division of Arts and Humanities
- Doctorate in Celtic languages and literatures or a related field
- Strong command of Middle and Modern Welsh
- Experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership
- Ability to contribute to the department's research and teaching mission
