Position: Telecommunications Installer DC (Level IV)
KMM Telecommunications is seeking a dedicated and experienced Low Voltage/DC Technician to enhance our team of telecommunications specialists. This role is based in the Salt Lake City area, with opportunities for travel to nearby regions. Ideal candidates will possess a minimum of 6 years of experience in low voltage/DC/battery installation, hold a valid driver's license, and be open to working various shifts, including swing shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and set up low voltage systems at cellular sites.
- Perform testing, routine maintenance, and quality assurance checks to ensure systems operate correctly.
- Guarantee that all installations comply with safety, regulatory, and company standards.
- Maintain comprehensive records of installations, as-built drawings, repairs, and maintenance tasks.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations diligently.
- Identify potential safety risks and implement measures to reduce hazards.
- Travel to multiple job sites as required.
Qualifications:
- At least 6 years of experience in the low-voltage industry/DC Equipment Installation.
- Experience with the installation of PDF's and -48V Battery systems is essential.
- Capability to operate motorized lift equipment for the installation or removal of batteries.
- Valid driver's license is required.
- Physical ability to frequently push or pull cables weighing up to 60 lbs.
- Comfortable with climbing ladders up to 8 ft and standing on ladders for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, twisting, and reaching above shoulder level is necessary.
- Ability to work in environments with moderate noise levels and temperature variations.
Preferred Skills:
- Prior experience in field engineering.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Electrical degree, certification, or apprenticeship is advantageous.
- Experience with AC Electrical systems is a plus.
