Job Summary

Under general supervision, the Cardiac Catheterization Specialist follows clearly defined procedures to provide support to cardiologists and registered nurses for the execution and technical analysis of procedures performed in the Cardiac Catheterization and EP lab.

Integrates education, technical competence, and patient interaction skills to implement safe and precise treatment under the supervision of a cardiologist.

Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to help deliver optimal patient care. May be responsible for mentoring and training students.

Works independently, as well as part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with many interruptions.

Functions effectively and performs this position in an emergency situation. Collaborates with other departments such as MRI, ECHO, ICUs, etc.

Functions in a proactive and time-sensitive manner and performs well under stress and emergency situations.

Responsibilities
  • Support cardiologists and registered nurses in the execution and technical analysis of procedures
  • Implement safe and precise treatment under the supervision of a cardiologist
  • Adhere to local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures
  • Mentor and train students as needed
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Function effectively in emergency situations
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree
  • 2 Years of Experience
  • BLS for Health Providers (AHA)
  • Graduate of Cardiovascular Technologist program
  • RCIS licensure - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or CVIS- Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist
  • Basic knowledge of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias
  • Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions
  • In-depth understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
  • Well-developed time-management and organizational skills
  • General knowledge of computer applications
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 Years of Experience
  • In-depth knowledge of cardiac catheterization tests, mechanics, and equipment
